Wisdom Teeth Removal at Select Smiles
Usually the last teeth to erupt, wisdom teeth start to show in the late teenage years or early twenties. Often, there isn’t enough space for these new teeth, resulting in pain, swelling and limitations in opening your mouth. If you require removal, at Select Smiles, we keep you comfortable with anaesthetic, performing the extractions at our state-of-the-art facility.
Wisdom teeth can be:
- Completely erupted – You can likely keep these in your mouth and they will have their full function. Cleaning them may be difficult, and decay or other issues are likely.
- Unerupted – When teeth can’t come to the surface, we can monitor them with OPG X-rays or 3D scans. Though not visible, removal may be necessary.
- Impacted – The teeth have tried to erupt, but due to lack of space or angle, they become stuck. Infection and damage to other teeth can result, making removal a likely choice.
