Frequently Asked Questions

What is a dental implant?

The titanium implant acts as a tooth root that’s placed in your jawbone. Once it’s fully integrated, a restoration can be placed on the top to look and feel like a natural tooth.

What costs are involved?

The fees will depend on the type of restoration you require and the number of implants needed to complete your desired objectives. The investment is slightly greater than some other options, but most people feel the benefits of implants are outweighed by the additional cost.

What’s involved in the process?

There are two stages involved in receiving a dental implant:

  1. The implant is placed and a healing time allowed. Meanwhile, we’ll custom-create your restoration to be affixed to the implant.
  2. Once created and the area healed, we’ll attach the restoration and ensure a perfect fit and cosmetic match.

Can a dental implant be used with other restorations?

Depending on your situation, we can use a dental implant to support a single crown, a denture or a bridge.

You will receive a provisional prosthesis directly after the implants are placed. You may need procedures such as an extraction or bone grafting completed before the implant can be received, which we can accommodate at our practice.  Many clinicians rely on as little as four implants to support the prosthesis, which is where the name All-on-4 originates.
