Dermal Fillers and Wrinkle Relaxers at Select Smiles

At Select Smiles, we offer a comprehensive approach to helping you improve your look. As dentists, we’re well-versed in understanding your facial aesthetics. We’ve completed training with the Australian Academy of Facial Aesthetics to gain the knowledge required to give you the results you want. All your features are considered to provide the changes you desire to your soft tissue, bone structure and dental tissues.

Dermal fillers and wrinkle relaxers are available to create a more rejuvenated look, enhancing your confidence and restoring the health of your skin. We’re pleased to have complimentary consultations available for this cosmetic service.

Dermal and Lip Fillers

Soften lines, folds or wrinkles and add volume to your lips with dermal and lip fillers. These can treat the area from the corner of the nose to the mouth, smile lines, give more contour to chin or cheeks and enhance your lips.

The main substance in the filler is hyaluronic acid, which is a biosynthesised version of the body’s natural substances. Our body decreases its production of this substance as we get older, which thins and dries out the skin and causes wrinkles. The fillers are injected to add volume, and your body will dissolve the substances over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What outcomes can be achieved?

Your smile is framed by the look of your lips and face. Whether you want to make your look more symmetrical, define it further, pump up the volume or relax wrinkles, our extra training can be used to your benefit. Wrinkle relaxers are injected to the face to give you a fresh look without noninvasive treatment. The muscles under the skin are relaxed, slowing down the movement of muscles and softening lines.

How long will treatment last?

Generally, you can see your results for 4-6 months, though areas that move more may last for less time. Everyone is different, and ultimately, this difference is due to the speed at which your body breaks down the materials. What looks great when it comes to your skin today may not be what’s best in a few years, making the limited nature of these results the best option.

Are there side effects?

Bruising, swelling or redness at the site of treatment are the most common side effects, though they’re temporary and dissipate within a couple of days. Ice can be applied or mild painkillers taken to keep you comfortable. During treatment, you’ll be kept comfortable and won’t have to worry about pain. If required, your lips can be numbed.

Is treatment safe?

These procedures have been used for years and are proven to be safe with predictable results. We’ve completed additional training to perform such treatments.

Are there limitations post-treatment?

During the first hours after treatment (about 4-6), do not apply makeup, exercise, sleep, drink alcohol or lie down. In the first 24 hours, you shouldn’t massage or rub the area of treatment, get facial treatments done, travel by airplane or enter extreme temperatures, such as in a sauna.
